Tauseef Akhtar is a ghazal singer and composer whose musical upbringing was shaped by Urdu poetry and Hindustani training. The son of poet Akhtar Azad, he trained with Pandit Govind Prasad Jaipurwaale and Ustad Dilshad Khan, and later became a disciple of Jagjit Singh. His work includes Hindi film music and collaborations that bring Western instruments into conversation with the ghazal.
